The **Laboratory Operations Specialist II** plays a key role in supporting scientific research by executing and overseeing daily lab support workflows such as sample handling, inventory coordination, and glassware management. In addition to these essential operational duties, the role also leads process improvements and small-scale projects that enhance lab efficiency, compliance, and readiness—ensuring a high-functioning environment for research teams. **What You’ll Work On** + Perform and oversee routine lab support activities including sample receiving, labeling, and distribution; glassware collection and sanitation; and inventory management to ensure uninterrupted lab workflows. + Identify and implement improvements to lab support systems and workflows to enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance. + Contribute to or lead small-scale projects that support lab readiness, such as space planning, equipment coordination, or digital tracking tools. + Maintain accurate records, SOPs, and documentation related to sample handling, inventory, and lab support processes; support audit readiness and investigations. + Train junior staff and serve as a point of contact for lab teams and support functions to ensure smooth daily operations and alignment on priorities. **Education and Experience** + Bachelors Degree required, preferably in operations management, life sciences, engineering, or a related field. + Minimum 3 years’ experience in a laboratory support, operations, or logistics role, preferably in a regulated or research environment + This position will be on-site at our Columbus, OH location. The base pay for this position is $54,000.00 – $108,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
