Job Description

The Laboratory Manager’s purpose is to optimise and continually improve the technical operation of the Laboratory. The responsibilities include accurate reporting of analytical results, implementation and utilisation of appropriate quality systems and quality control in a laboratory environment.

Manage effectively the operation of the Laboratory.Administration of necessary systemsSupporting the overall operational management of the laboratoryLead compliance of the discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) local requirements as a minimum level of site performance.Compliance with and maintenance of ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001 standardsEnsure compliance with Social Performance requirements that include identifying and managing risks with social and human rights impactsImplementing and utilising the ISO 17025:2005 system by auditing the laboratory quality management system on a regular basis to ensure that the system is utilized to the benefit of the CompanyCreating a purpose-led, high-performing culture at the Laboratory that is aligned to company values.Lead effective employee & contractor management processes for the discipline

Qualifications

BSc. (Hons) in Chemistry or Equivalent

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

At least 7 years’ laboratory processing experience of which 3 years should be at a management levelTechnical knowledge(experience) required for role:Knowledge of operational processes within scope of roleData measurement, monitoring and analysis techniquesDomain specific knowledge of relevant unit processes, operating procedures and equipment capabilityMineral/feed characteristics and specifications and application to domain specific processes Laboratory methods and equipment function, and laboratory standardsValid drivers' license

This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Process Manager.
