Description of Job TheDivision of Disease Control and Public Health Response (DCPHR) is the department’s lead surveillance, planning and response arm for public events including communicable disease outbreaks and epidemics, pandemics, bioterrorism, and other public health and mass casualty events and disasters. The division includes theOffice of Emergency Preparedness and Response; State Public Health Laboratory;Health Equity Branch, Communicable Disease Branch; Immunization Branch; Public Health Informatics, Reporting,andRefugee Branch; and Operations Branch. The Division exists to ensure that the Department has the ability to effectively prepare for, monitor, detect, diagnose, investigate, and nimbly respond to all types of conditions, events and disasters that impact the public’s health. The Work Unit: The operations branch within the Colorado State Lab exists to manage building operations, warehouse, supplies, logistics and courier dispatch. The operations branch is also a liaison between the Laboratory programs and external stakeholders. The State Lab is responsible for providing public health laboratory testing services for the state of Colorado. The Facility Operations Department within the Colorado State Public Health Laboratory (CSPHL) operates and maintains the Laboratory Facility and campus grounds to include custodial services; maintenance and repairs, modifications, alterations, and construction of the State Laboratory. The State Laboratory is a unique facility with federal regulatory requirements governed by the Select Agent Program, Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3), EPA, FDA, ISO 17025 and CLIA regulations. The operations of the facility present unique challenges that must be overcome to provide this essential service. What you will be doing: The position is responsible for performing cleaning and custodial duties including but not limited to cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, vacuuming and taking out trash. Cleaning and Sanitizing of Facilities: + Performs daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work area as per schedules and procedures by use of appropriate disinfectant cleaners, chemicals, and equipment consisting of sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming breakroom cleaning, restroom cleaning, and other related duties as required. + Performs other routine cleaning to include washing frames, sills, windows, baseboards, fixtures, furnishings, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures. Collects and disposes of trash and recycling by properly containing and transporting to proper disposal locations internally and externally around the facility. Maintaining Cleaning Supplies and Equipment + Responsible for maintaining inventory of cleaning chemical and consumable goods. Including all paper and sanitary goods. + Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment including mops heads, towels, dry mops and brooms. + Works with the facility manager to order cleaning supplies and equipment. + Visual and physical checks of equipment. + Organizes and maintains janitors closets.
