Job DescriptionThe Laboratory Chemist’s purpose is to ensure implementation and utilisation of appropriate quality assurance and quality control systems based on the ISO 17025:2005 standard, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).The function of the Laboratory Chemist role has a specific accountability for quality control, instrument and equipment calibration and a strong technical knowledge application.
Technical support to the Laboratory Manager to optimize and continually improve operations of the laboratoryCoordinate technical, quality assurance/quality control functions of the laboratory in line with ISO 17025 requirementsOptimise and continually improve the technical operation of the laboratoryContributing to laboratory’s planning processParticipation in general improvement projectsProvide technical advice on analytical methods and equipment.Identifying knowledge and skill gaps and provide development activities and coachingCompliance with company quality assurance, health, safety, risk, social and environment management systemsThis role is at a Band 7 level reporting to the Laboratory Manager.
QualificationsBSc. (Hons) in Chemistry or Equivalent
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
