The Laboratory Analyst is to conduct simple and routine laboratory testing of raw materials, in process products, finished dose products, stability samples, environmental samples and water samples whilst maintaining a high standard of good practices in the laboratory

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

All testing for which the analyst has been deemed competent for, with the exception of Assay, Uniformity of Dosage Units – by Content Uniformity, Related Substances (or equivalent impurity test), and Particle Size.Ensure the application of sound scientific principles in laboratory work and support laboratory investigationsSupport and encourage continuous improvement initiatives for the benefit of the Quality department and the wider businessEnsure activities comply with GMP, legal and ethical standardsPlan, monitor and achieve goals within set time framesProvide, build and maintain consistent, reliable and accurate customer serviceAccurately and efficiently sample materials in the WarehouseComply with KPI requirements to ensure product is sampled within the timeframe needed to test and release for manufacturing or packagingIdentify materials by Raman spectroscopyLog in materials into the LIMS systemOperate material handling equipment in a safe mannerCommunicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives

Job Requirements:

Minimum high school education with passes in English and MathsAbility to read and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to comply with GxPAbility to build rapport, establish and maintain relationships with peers, business contacts, and corporate managementAbility to effectively manage time and meet deadlines and targets with competing and conflicting prioritiesDemonstrated attention to detail and extensive technical knowledge and ability is essential in this roleSound judgement and decision making skillsPrevious experience in pharmaceutical GMP environment desirable but not essentialProven ability to work under minimal supervisionHigh level of written and verbal communication with experience writing reportsAbility to follow prescribed and detailed procedures
