UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a full-time Laboratory Administrative Assistant Associate to join our dedicated team! This position offers 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays from 6:15 AM to 12:00 PM-and no holiday requirements, giving you a great work-life balance. You'll support outpatient locations throughout the Jamestown area, gaining valuable experience while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
This role offers flexible hours, cross-training in other departments, and opportunities to take ownership of both short- and long-term projects. Ideal candidates will have strong customer service skills, the ability to navigate multiple computer systems, follow procedures, take feedback constructively, and work well both independently and as part of a team. In this role, there is the opportunity to-
+ Provide general administrative support to a department or group of professionals under direct supervision.
+ Perform routine clerical tasks such as copying, sorting, filing, and typing.
+ Maintain office organization by setting up and updating files, logs, and records of activities.
+ Order office supplies and coordinate maintenance of office equipment.
+ Answer, screen, and route incoming calls and messages; respond to routine inquiries.
+ Greet, screen, and direct visitors to the appropriate staff member.
+ Manage calendars by scheduling meetings, reserving rooms, arranging equipment, and preparing materials.
+ Compose, prioritize, and distribute routine correspondence following established procedures.
+ Assist in preparing reports and presentations by compiling data and formatting content.
+ Accession, triage, and process patient materials in the laboratory system while ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
Required:
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software.
+ Ability to use applicable MS Suite products.
+ Knowledge of business processes and procedures.
+ Ability to use basic reasoning skills.
Preferred:
+ Up to one year of administrative experience.
