Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Responsibilities The L&D Scrub Technician provides scrub assistance skills within the OR suite and is responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization of surgical instruments according to manufacturer’s recommended guidelines or instructions for use. He/she is familiar with and supportive of Center policies and procedures. Qualifications Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and hold current certification with one of the following: The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Kansas Department of State Health Service. Current BLS certification. Preferred Qualifications One-year prior experience. Surgical Technician certification
