Job Title: Labeling and Compliance Specialist
Job Description

Provide support to ensure the company's products and labeling comply with federal, state, local, and export regulations. Review and proofread labeling and artwork for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Offer guidance on formatting of labeling and packaging to adhere to FDA, USDA, and other regulatory rules, including global market regulations.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with export consultants on formula and label validation, and obtain compliance information for specific global markets.Evaluate new and existing ingredients for regulatory compliance against applicable US and export food regulations, ensuring alignment with internal specifications and product labeling claims.Provide input to internal ingredient specifications for ongoing regulatory and internal compliance.Determine labeling terms for finished products with consideration for business needs and transparency.Respond to internal inquiries regarding the use, function, origin, limits, and other details of ingredients.Support processes that ensure all packaging includes accurate and complete nutritional labeling information conforming to Label Master Data and complies with applicable regulations and guidelines.Maintain basic knowledge of the regulatory landscape affecting the food industry.Participate in cross-functional teams on innovation and reformulation projects to provide input and guidance.Engage actively in team meetings to develop strategies for upcoming regulatory requirements.Manage multiple projects to ensure timely delivery of ingredient information, meeting agreed-upon success criteria.Participate in customer FSQ aspects of the relationship with customers, in conjunction with the FSQ Systems team.Assist the FSQ Systems team with compliance to customer and regulatory requirements as needed.Essential SkillsFood safetyFood safety labeling systemsGFSISQFBRCHACCPQuality assuranceGMPAuditKosherHalalUSDANon-GMORegulatory knowledgeAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in a science-related area of study.Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in FDA and/or USDA labeling regulations.Proven ability to exercise accurate judgment and independently evaluate information critically.Ability to interpret, communicate, and execute plans or instructions in a time-sensitive manner with limited direction and resources.Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and influencing others.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and promote an inclusive work environment.Ability and means to travel if needed; must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance.Work Environment

Office-based role within the Food Safety Department.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
