Job Description

Join our team as a Lab Technician in a contract-to-hire position. You will play a crucial role in our microbiology testing lab, focusing on instrumentation such as PCR, mitus, scales, fillers, medias, and PH water activity. Your work will involve setting up samples and running pathogen tests.

ResponsibilitiesSet up samples and run pathogen tests using PCR and other instrumentation.Conduct basic microbiology testing on food samples.Perform titrations and pipetting with precision.Apply aseptic techniques in sterile processing environments.Accurately enter data and adapt to fluctuating workflows.Essential SkillsStrong knowledge and experience in PCR and pipetting.Proficiency in sterile processing and titration.A solid understanding of aseptic techniques and microbiology.Ability to adapt to workflow changes efficiently.Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.Additional Skills & Qualifications1-2 years of experience with a degree or 4-5 years without a degree.Basic microbiology skill sets, particularly in food testing.Work Environment

The position is based in a small microbiology testing lab that focuses on running samples to generate data for clients. The lab offers a laid-back environment with workflows that can fluctuate based on client demands. The role involves a rotating shift schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Tuesday to Saturday with an early finish around 1:30 pm on Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
