Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Lab Technician with a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or Biological Sciences. This role requires proficiency in pipetting, strong verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will engage in sample QC work and DNA sequencing.
ResponsibilitiesIndependently carry out nucleic acid extractions from various sample types.Perform quantitative PCR (qPCR) set-up and data analysis.Prepare libraries for high-throughput sequencing.Conduct DNA sequencing on next-generation DNA analyzers.Perform routine maintenance of DNA analyzers and related equipment.Check inventory and replenish consumable sequencing supplies.Communicate with customers by phone and email in a friendly and professional manner.Follow SOPs and the guidance of supervisors while being an effective team-player committed to company goals.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or Molecular Biology.1+ years of biological lab experience.Experience working in a regulatory environment (e.g., CLIA/CAP, GLP, GMP, and/or GCP).Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.Attention to detail.Knowledge of standard laboratory processes.Ability to follow and help develop Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in genomics, biology, molecular biology.Lab techniques with a focus on pipetting.Detail-oriented.Work Environment
The role is within a leading global genomics service company, known for its excellence in science and customer support. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of focused individuals. The environment is serious yet can be laid back at times as everyone is dedicated to getting the job done. The position operates on the 2nd shift from 4 PM to 12 AM, with training on the 1st shift (9 AM to 5 PM) for the first month. The team consists of seven people, including a shift lead. Candidates will undergo orientation and shadow trainers in the first week, followed by hands-on lab implementation from weeks two to four.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
