Job Responsibilities:

About the Role:

Performs testing to determine that incoming, in-process, or finished products meet quality standards.  Analyzes test data and reports results.  Troubleshoots and maintains testing equipment.  Communicates with manufacturing, engineering, and customer unit personnel to develop test procedures.  Prepares written test reports.  May prepare quotes for future programs and perform benchmarking of current prototype products.  May justify new equipment purchases.  Performs other duties as needed.  Work requires lifting of 40 lbs. or more.

Your Responsibilities:

Additional responsibilities may exist including interacting with other staff from manufacturing, business units, and engineering.  Weekend work and long hours may be required.  Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations.  Follows standard work methods on recurring assignments and receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments; technical adequacy of routine work is generally reviewed upon completion; non-routine work may also be reviewed in progress.    

Performs testing to determine that incoming, in-process, or finished products meet quality standards which often requires heavy lifting of 40 lbs. or more.  Performs benchmarking of current and prototype products.  Analyzes testing data and reports results.

Troubleshoots and performs routine equipment maintenance to ensure all equipment is capable of producing accurate results.  Replaces consumable parts, performs preventative maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and servicing as needed.  Reviews calibration requirements and arranges for calibrations as required.

Communicates with manufacturing, engineering, and customer unit personnel to develop test procedures.  Prepares written test reports.

May prepare quotes for future programs.  May justify new equipment purchases.

Performs other duties in support of business objectives.  May provide work direction and/or supervision to other staff.

Performs clerical work in the form of data entry, test template/work instruction writing and test report peer reviews.

Ensure a safe and organized work environment is maintained at all times.


Who We Are Looking For:

Demonstrated ability to use computers and standard and/or specialized office equipment, and any lab equipment associated with job duties.  Ability to perform duties involving quality control techniques such as sampling, checking, data collection and compilation.

Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and implement schedules for routine testing, etc.  Must be able to work independently.

Problem solving and prioritization skills in order to work under pressure and meet deadlines, handle changing priorities, and solve problems under limited work direction.

Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with internal and external contacts at various levels.

Demonstrated ability to provide work direction to other staff.

Must be physically able to perform job duties including heavy lifting of 40 lbs. or more.

Your Preferred Qualifications:

High school diploma/certificate including one or more of the following:  high school level algebra, chemistry, physics; or equivalent in order to perform job duties.  Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills to articulate clearly, keep neat and accurate records, and deal with internal and external contacts at all levels.  Must have a good mechanical aptitude

Previous experience in a test lab environment helpful
