Job Description
An environmental services company is seeking a Technician to work on-site at a local academic client in Raleigh, NC. Under general supervision, the Technician will perform routine and frequent manual and heavy labor tasks to properly consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport, and/or dispose of hazardous waste. This role requires adherence to environmentally responsible and cost-effective practices and company policies, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently after receiving proper training.
ResponsibilitiesSegregate and package materials for transport, ensuring the completion of required paperwork in accordance with regulations and customer policies.Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials, following appropriate regulations and policies.Adhere to Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis procedures as outlined in company policies.Operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment, once properly trained, to assist in the movement of containers for storage, treatment, and loading/unloading of trailers.Complete paperwork legibly, accurately, and promptly.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsKnowledge of laboratory procedures and exposure to hazardous chemicals.Understanding of chemical interactions and safe handling practices.Ability to work in a laboratory environment comfortably.Experience with hazardous waste management.Additional Skills & QualificationsBioworks certification or an Associate of Science degree preferred.Some exposure to laboratory settings is beneficial.Work Environment
The position requires working on-site in Raleigh, NC during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. The Technician may need to travel for a one-week training. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39000.00 - $39000.00/yr.
