Lab Technician
Analytical Laboratory Technician Job Description The Analytical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine testing on various samples to provide analytical data for process control, quality assurance, and product development. This role involves preparing and analyzing samples using advanced physical and chemical analytical techniques and maintaining laboratory records and equipment. Responsibilities + Conduct routine testing on samples in the Analytical Services laboratory to provide analytical data for process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management. + Prepare and analyze samples using sophisticated analytical equipment such as pH meters, densitometers, dissolved oxygen meters, conductivity meters, calorimeters, viscometers, rheometers, spectrophotometers, auto-titrators, ion chromatographs, inductively coupled plasma spectrometers, laser particle size analyzers, gas chromatographs, High Pressure Liquid Chromatographs, titrators, densitometers, autoclaves, pipettors, platers, incubators, and ovens. + Perform various microbiological tests, including spore counts and microbiological contamination assessments. + Operate STARLiMS Laboratory Information Management System, Waters Empower laboratory data acquisition system, and other instrument-specific computer systems. + Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards necessary to complete analyses. + Promptly and accurately record, calculate, and report analytical results while maintaining appropriate records. + Complete daily instrument calibrations and inspections, ensuring adherence to safety and housekeeping practices. + Serve as Safety Officer for the shift when required. + Maintain laboratory supplies, prepare solutions, clean glassware, and dispose of solid/liquid waste. + Train others on waste management practices. + Review analytical data and various LIMS reports. + Communicate and discuss issues with team members and supervision. + Diagnose typical instrument problems and provide assistance to others. + Multi-task and prioritize workload to optimize efficiency and productivity of the laboratory. Essential Skills + Proficiency in High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC). + Experience in laboratory operations and quality control. + Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma with 4-6 years of laboratory experience OR Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Work Environment This position is on the night shift, from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The work environment includes handling sophisticated analytical equipment and maintaining laboratory safety and cleanliness. The role requires attention to detail and efficient multitasking abilities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $23.00/hr.
