Job Description
This Lab Technician position supports the General Industrial division, which is responsible for a variety of exciting activities related to developing products and technologies for the Powder Group. The technician will play a key role in the efficient operation of the lab, ensuring a safe work environment, and performing tasks independently as outlined by their supervisor.
ResponsibilitiesPerform basic paint making processes and create formulations that meet manufacturers' specifications.Work with various powder coating technologies, including Epoxy, Hybrid, PET TGIC/HAA, and Urethane product types.Assist with developing reports and documents detailing tests, projects, and overall results.Comply with test methods according to set standards.Document all formulation processes.Function with sustained supervision and write simple reports outlining procedures used and results obtained.Complete proper forms and documents when necessary.Comply with all safety and security regulations and maintain a clean work area.Communicate with internal and external customers.Manage work in accordance with timeline goals.Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.Verbally communicate routine information to supervisors and others in the platform.Recognize routine requirements and select proper, simple procedures to obtain desired results and solve problems.Essential SkillsLaboratory experienceQuality controlChemistry knowledgeQuality assuranceCoating expertiseDocumentation writingAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent minimumKnowledge of basic math skills requiredComputer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysisFamiliarity with scientific principles, products, and/or processes1-4 years of experience in a laboratory preferredMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsMust be able to communicate verbally and in writingMay work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are presentTolerance for non-toxic paint odors and ability to wear a respirator as requiredValid driver’s licenseAbility to operate a computer and communicate via telephoneSome travel to other locations, meetings, and/or seminars is requiredTechnical understanding and knowledge in industrial chemistriesWork Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
