Lab Technician
Job Title: QA/QC Technician - Laboratory Shift Job Description The QA/QC Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products meet established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance. This position involves conducting tests, analyzing results, and reporting findings to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards. Responsibilities + Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards. + Monitor and document production processes to ensure adherence to HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements. + Perform microbiological and chemical testing of products and environmental samples. + Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities. + Identify and report any non-conformances or deviations from quality standards, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions. + Collaborate with production and other departments to resolve quality issues and implement improvements. + Assist in the development and implementation of quality control policies and procedures. + Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in food safety and quality assurance. Essential Skills + Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field. + Minimum of 2 years of experience in a QA/QC role within the food manufacturing industry. + Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety regulations. + Experience with laboratory equipment and conducting microbiological and chemical tests. + Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. + Good communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in quality control and moisture testing. + Degree in science or related field. + Understanding of GMP and food manufacturing regulations. Work Environment The role requires working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. The position is full-time with a shift from Tuesday to Saturday, starting at 6 am. Flexibility is needed as the shift may involve weekends and requires meeting a 40-hour workweek. The environment is not strictly laboratory-based, but involves basic testing functions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is necessary, and physical activities such as standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting up to 50 pounds are part of the job. The plant may have warmer areas, and there will be stairs to navigate. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
