Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team in a dynamic pathology laboratory setting. This role involves a variety of tasks essential to the efficient operation of our laboratory, focusing on tissue processing and quality assurance.

ResponsibilitiesOrganize blocks in numerical and alphabetical order for effective filing.Operate the block melter for block melting processes.Perform quality assurance checks on blocks, particularly with Beaker Go Live, utilizing computer systems.Pick up rush tissue cassettes and load them onto the tissue processor using relevant instrumentation.Run the Xylene recycler efficiently, using the designated instrumentation.Clean the molds utilizing the mold cleaning unit.Pick up tool boxes as required.Change routine H&E stainer to maintain laboratory standards.Pull blocks for recuts as needed.Assist in changing tissue processors when necessary.Essential SkillsProficiency in laboratory practices, particularly tissue processing and biology.Experience or degree in Biology is preferred.Familiarity with various lab instruments and processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a pathology laboratory is advantageous.Ability to work effectively with immunohistochemistry (IHC) teams.Work Environment

The role involves working within a pathology laboratory alongside the immunohistochemistry (IHC) team. Flexible work hours are available, with options for day or evening shifts as per preference.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
