Lab Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic fragrance company as a Fragrance Lab Technician, where you will work alongside chemical operators and fragrance scientists to test incoming products, in-process samples, and final samples before they are sent out to customers. This role offers the opportunity to learn basic wet chemistry and bench techniques, making it ideal for candidates looking to start a career in lab work.

ResponsibilitiesConduct physical property testing, specific gravity testing, and pH testing on fragrance samples.Compound and create individual fragrances, restock and refill the lab.Test and document 12-20 formulas per day, ensuring timely product delivery.Communicate with peers to ensure smooth operations and timely dispatch of products.Work independently while assisting and collaborating with colleagues.Essential SkillsDegree in a science-related field (Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred).Lab experience (academic experience is acceptable).Background in chemistry, laboratory work, quality control, pH testing, and physical testing.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in fast-paced environments like restaurants, fast food, or customer service is beneficial.Comfortable with contract work that may be extended.Eager to learn and grow within the organization.Work Environment

The work environment is a fragrance lab within a manufacturing setting, similar to other chemical companies. You will be working primarily in the lab, performing physical testing and smelling fragrances. Sensitivity to strong scents may not be suitable for this role. The lab typically includes 3 Perfumers and 2-3 lab technicians.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
