Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Geotechnical Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our soil and materials testing laboratory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing lab personnel, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, and delivering accurate and timely test results in compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory technicians and support staff.Oversee geotechnical testing of soil, rock, aggregate, and construction materials (e.g., Atterberg limits, grain size analysis, Proctor compaction, triaxial shear, consolidation, etc.).Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant standards.Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments.Implement and monitor quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures.Review and approve laboratory test reports for accuracy and completeness.Manage sample logging, storage, and disposal procedures.Coordinate with project managers and field staff to prioritize testing schedules.Train and mentor laboratory personnel in testing procedures and safety protocols.Maintain laboratory certifications (e.g., AASHTO Accreditation, CCRL, AMRL).Assist in budgeting, procurement of supplies, and resource planning.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (required).Minimum 3 years of experience in construction/geotechnical materials testing.Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.Strong organizational and time management skills.Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office, lab data systems).Strong knowledge of geotechnical testing methods and standards.Familiarity with laboratory management software and data reporting tools.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Certifications such as NICET, ACI, or equivalent are a plus.Skills

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
