The role youll contribute: Supervises day-to-day operations and evaluates, trains, and schedules phlebotomist and, or lab assistant schedules. Responsible for managing assigned selected aspects of laboratory processes or shifts, which may include workflow, quality control process, performance improvement activities, training of new employees, advanced problem solving for customers and coworkers, department equipment or computer maintenance and upgrades.

The value youll bring to the team:

Evaluates and monitors program needs, identifies unmet needs, and evaluates program services and staff

Performs assigns and oversees pre-analytical laboratory activities, which may include general equipment maintenance, function checks and documentation; inventory control and supply stocking; blood specimen collection; biological specimen processing; cleaning and disinfection of selected or assigned laboratory equipment and spaces; and other pre-analytical activities. Provides and acts on technical and support information related to the elements of laboratory testing for all age groups, from neonates through geriatric patients.

Supports staff using effective scheduling, workload assignments, and troubleshooting problems; motivates high performance and productivity from employees.

Actively participates in, and has knowledge of, laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement activities, including resolution of customer services issues, evaluation of new equipment and/or procedures or methods, preparation and review of staff quality and efficiency reports; and monitoring staff performance to enforce technical and service standards.

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications :

High school diploma

2 years of laboratory experience

Valid driver license

BLS certificate

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates degree

3 years of laboratory experience

1 year of leadership experience
