Job Title: Lab SupervisorJob Description This position provides leadership and mentorship to QA technicians, ensuring their performance aligns with established quality standards. The role involves maintaining accurate documentation and supporting quality assurance processes. The Lab Supervisor addresses food safety and quality concerns promptly and effectively, leading response efforts for quality incidents and managing their resolution from start to finish. Additionally, the role drives quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams, implements corrective actions to contain and prevent product quality issues, coordinates internal and external actions to place affected products on hold, and partners with the production manager to ensure sanitation standards are consistently met. Responsibilities + Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions. + Manage the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) schedule. + Oversee allergen verification and validation processes. + Manage sanitation verification and validation activities. Essential Skills + Proficiency in quality assurance and food safety. + Analytical testing skills. + Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining HACCP plans. + Completion of HACCP formal training. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate degree and/or ample experience in the food industry; bachelor's degree preferred. + Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required. + Skills in validation testing and verification. Work Environment The work environment requires the ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently push, pull, bend, and reach. Flexibility for overtime, weekend, and holiday work is necessary. The role also involves working in hot and cold climates and requires physical activities such as lifting, standing, squatting, twisting, stretching, reaching, and pulling.
