Description Position at SBM Management

The Lab Services Supervisor will be responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of laboratory technicians.  The supervisor will be responsible for the proficiency of staff, accurate instrument operation, performance of maintenance and troubleshooting measures, quality control, quality assurance and proficiency testing. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Plan, assign, supervise, and review daily work of laboratory staffInspect areas, equipment, and working conditions to ensure compliance with sanitation and OSHA regulationsPerform quality and service inspections dailyPerform administrative duties such as staff scheduling, reporting, record keeping, budget preparation and new equipment purchasesTrain and instruct employees in tasks, safety, policies, and proceduresMonitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipmentMaintain and repair laboratory equipment and fixturesTrack equipment and supplies inventory and re-order supplies as neededProvide reports, such as pass down, weekly, or monthlyCorrect at risk behavior, then report the accidents or incidents to the manager immediatelyProvide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

Qualifications:

Education and/ or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or a related fieldOne year experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience in the operation/use of general hand and power tools, instruments, and testing apparatus common to the electric and instrumentation fieldsKnowledge to read P&IDs, electrical drawings, PLC ladder logic, etc.Experience in aseptic or GMP-regulated manufacturing

Compensation: $60,000-$68,000 per year

Shift: 9:00 am - 5:00pm
