Title: Lab Engineer
The Opportunity:
UST is looking for 1 Lab support Engineer.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
· Drive early requirement analysis, capacity planning, and lab infrastructure assessment for new datacenter programs.
· Provide hands-on technical support in platform bring-up including system assembly, BIOS/FW flashing, OS provisioning, and stability validation.
· Liaise with platform validation, firmware, and hardware teams to ensure platform readiness aligns with project goals.
· Own the documentation of system requirements, configuration templates, hardware readiness reports, and rack-level setup plans.
· Contribute to testbed readiness by coordinating debug interfaces, power/network layouts, and tooling setup.
· Coordinate with stakeholders for issue replication, escalation, and resolution during initial hardware integration.
· Support smooth handover to long-term validation/delivery leads post setup phase.
· Leading and mentoring a team of data center technicians, including training, performance management, and task delegation.
· Utilizing monitoring tools to track system performance, identify issues, and proactively address potential problems.
Required Skills:
· 8+ years of experience in platform validation, system bring-up, or datacenter engineering.
· Strong technical expertise in x86 system bring-up (BIOS, BMC, FW flashing, driver install, etc.).
· Solid understanding of datacenter rack, power, cooling, networking and cabling layout principles.
· Familiarity with tools like ITP, Dediprog, serial debuggers, and power control interfaces.
· Hands-on experience with Linux and/or Windows OS provisioning and setup automation.
· Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
· Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide guidance.
· Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Qualification:
· 8+ years of Experience in relevant field.
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the desired field
· Hands-on experience with Linux and/or Windows OS provisioning and setup automation.
