Role Summary:
Flowserve Cookeville, a valve production site, seeks a Lab Engineer. In this role, the candidate will be conducting tests or designing and developing test set-ups to support all aspects of operations at this facility. The lab professional will be expected to perform and document the tests with minimal supervision and oversight. Testing can cover a very broad range of different processes that may include temperature, pressure, torque, fluid leakage, and fire testing. This role may assist engineering in multiple ways to aide in product evaluation, improvement and development. This role will also be considered as a lab leader and must be able to provide self-direction in the absence of the lab supervisor.

Minimum Associates Degree in an engineering fieldMust be able to effectively use Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word, and PowerPointHydraulics and Pneumatics skills. Ability to design, setup, and conduct testing as required.Basic knowledge of electricity and electronics. Ability to test electronic systems to measure voltages, current, resistance. Ability to interpret wiring schematics and create/modify components to meet schematic.Ability to read and understand technical documents relating to test and performance in the form of R&D testing documentation, customer technical specifications, and industry standards.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to contribute within a team environment.Self-driven in professional growth and development.Exhibit a positive attitude.Be forward thinking and attempt to improve standard processes that are used in the lab.Must be able to take direction and complete tasks within a reasonable timeframePhysical requirements include ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to carry up to 50 pounds. Lifting, bending, twisting of shoulders and use of arms in an outreaching position is required.Standing and walking throughout the work area is required.Must be able to work temporary modified work schedules to support testing needs.
