Job Description
Join a dynamic team at a company specializing in at-home testing kits. As a Lab Assistant, you will work with urine, blood, and fecal samples, ensuring meticulous handling and processing. Your role includes opening, sorting, and collecting samples, entering data into the lab information system, and preparing samples for testing. You will also receive and quarantine specimen packages, assist in strip manufacturing, and verify laboratory results.
ResponsibilitiesReceive and quarantine specimen packages.Open and sort specimens according to acceptance criteria.Separate and code non-testable specimens.Enter and verify specimen information in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).Assist in manufacturing duties, including cutting and preparing strips for coating.Log laboratory supply deliveries.Manually enter and verify laboratory results.Notify supervisor of any deviations from procedures.Perform all other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor.Essential SkillsExperience with laboratory equipment and sample preparation.Ability to handle sensitive samples with care.Proficiency in data entry and specimen accessioning.Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.Comfortable using computers, particularly Microsoft products.Ability to read, write, and speak English.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior lab experience is preferred but not required.Pipetting experience and dexterity are advantageous.Must be open to working a second shift schedule.Work Environment
The work environment is based in an office building that includes a call center, laboratory, and clerical center. Training occurs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm, transitioning to a second shift schedule of 2:30 pm to 11 pm. Dress attire includes long pants, t-shirts, and closed-toed shoes, with lab coats worn when handling specimens. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
