Kroc Attendant II

Position Summary

The Kroc Attendant II will support use of the facility; engage patrons; and participation in the planning and completion of projects. This most often involves the climbing wall and the game room but can include Mobile Kroc, Kroc Student Transportation, Day Camps, and other programming as needed. All Kroc Attendants will provide superior customer service and will be proactive in looking for deep connection with patrons. The underlying theme of all programs will be to cultivate a safe place to belong and grow.

Duties and Responsibilities

Promote the Mission of The Salvation Army. Ensure that everyone views the Kroc Center as a safe place to belong and grow. Be professional and trustworthy in the completion of their responsibilities. Provide excellent customer service. Assist with implementation and coordination of specific programming during their shifts. Possess a general understanding of department areas and programming. Possess an in depth understanding of the roles they are consistently scheduled for (i.e. climbing wall, game room, etc.) as well as the Kroc Center’s Emergency Action Plan. Display integrity, enthusiasm and sound moral judgment. Relate joyfully and sensitively to members and guests of all ages. Use appropriate positive discipline consistently and be familiar with managing patron behavior. Practice vigilant supervision at all times. Report all instances of abuse, neglect, injuries, or concerns through to supervisor and maintain the ability to escalate the reporting of the instance. Take ownership of at least one Project (defined as: starting with a desired outcome, identify what is needed to arrive there, break the process into manageable tasks, and ensure the completion of the tasks while keeping their supervisor in the loop.) Divide their time between normal Kroc Attendant duties and work on projects. Project time should be up to 20% of scheduled hours. Other duties as assigned.

General Qualifications and Proficiencies

Must be a minimum of 16 years old with reliable transportation to the Kroc. Must hold and maintain current American Red Cross Community First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Must obtain within 60 days if not already held. Strong desire and ability to work with children and adults. Must have the ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with customers, clients, members and staff. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Thrive in a team-oriented environment. Be a team player. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality as needed. Be a consistent example of department best practices.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, walk, run, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push and pull objects, and reach overhead. Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
