Work you’ll do
In this position you will support high priority Department of Defense (DoD) efforts to develop plans, exercises and engagements that optimize U.S. force capabilities, posture and requirements. The Strategic Plans SME will understand the complexity and value of U.S. posture in the Indo-Pacific and evaluate best use of resources to develop combined, joint, deliberate and contingency plans for the Indo-Pacific AOR. This position will support various OPLANs, CONPLANS, and Campaign Plans. The candidate for this position must be well versed in the Joint Planning Process (JPP); Joint Planning Group (JPG) procedures; as well as Component Command staff functions and capabilities. This position must also be well versed in policies, military organization and capabilities, engagements, and opportunities with partner countries in the AOR.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate political, diplomatic, economic, information, and military courses of action for plans.
• Support development of plans, engagements and briefings for priority OPLANs, CONPLANs, force flows and support to global campaign plans.
• Engage with OSD and Joint Staff to coordinate contribution to the National Defense Strategy and National Military Strategy.
• Coordinate with Service Components to understand their capabilities and integrate their OAIs with client’s strategic objectives.
• Coordinate with high level stakeholders to include senior staff, Component Commands, OSD, other Geographic and Functional Combatant Commands, and the IC where required.
• Coordinate with partner countries to synchronize bi-lateral and multi-lateral strategic objectives, plans and operations.
• Report status, develop program/project-related documentation, and maintain production and quality metrics for assigned project.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Government’s program managers, representatives, and authorizing officials.
• Work cooperatively with the government lead in developing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures in accordance with program objectives.
• Have a high attention to detail, working closely with plans, operations and technical stakeholders to drive measurable results.
• Produce high-quality, well-written technical documentation.
• Work effectively within a delivery-centric, multi-functional team.
• Work in a fast-paced, agile environment with fluid requirements and changing priorities.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Active TS/SCI clearance required
• 10+ years of experience in DoD in a plans, operations, communications or intelligence related field/program.
• Experience interacting with and briefing senior government and industry leaders on topics related to plans and policy
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Ability to travel 10-15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in political and/or military science.
• Joint Professional Military Education (JPME).
• SAW/SAMS/JAWS/SAASS/MAWS/FA59 graduate or equivalent military plans training.
• Demonstrated success in government project and/or personnel management (DoD preferred) through prior work experience in a customer-facing role.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,600 to $241,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
