Our Retirement team combines expertise in retirement and investment consulting to support global organizations worldwide in designing, managing, administering and communicating all types of retirement plans. Whether a client has a defined benefit pension or a defined contribution plan, we work with them to determine the right approach to design, funding, investing, governing and employee engagement that fits their specific goals.
In this exciting role as a Retirement Actuarial Consultant, you will have the opportunity to support diverse projects related to mergers & acquisitions, asset liability studies, forecasting, early retirement windows and other special projects as needed. You will also:
Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients: Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams Serve as the day to day project lead, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards Serve as primary, daily contact to clients on delivery of services Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Senior Consultants and Client Relationship Managers Provide value-added consulting expertise on retirement plan valuation, management and design, financial risk management and funding projects, and special projects involving global consulting, strategic workforce planning and total rewards strategies Ensure clients are regularly informed about the implications and opportunities that changing laws and regulations have related to their retirement plans Perform technical check of work products Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches Meet revenue and billable hour goals as described by manager Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships Directly contribute to clients’ success through applying your technical expertise Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels Serve as mentor to project team associates
The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets & attributes:
5 ~10+ years of experience and success in the design/management of defined benefit plans, ideally gained in a consulting environment An undergraduate degree is required; Advanced degree preferred Has obtained at least one or more actuarial credentials A track record of performing core retirement work as well as the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support the ability to contribute to new business generation Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues Strong analytical and creative skills Enjoys training/mentoring junior staff Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word Native Korean and advanced business level English
