Overview This position requires a highly organized, experienced, and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and quality standards, maintaining inventory, and optimizing kitchen efficiency and performance. This is a hands-on role requiring both culinary skills and strong leadership. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities and staff, including cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers. Ensure all food preparation and presentation meet quality and safety standards. Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs and waste. Schedule kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to ensure efficiency. Enforce proper sanitation, hygiene, and food safety practices in accordance with local health regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure smooth kitchen-to-service flow. Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and cost analysis. Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and professionalism. Monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed. Handle administrative tasks including budgeting, reporting, and compliance documentation. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar role. Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in inventory and scheduling software is a plus. ServSafe or other food handling certification required (or willingness to obtain). Working Conditions: Fast-paced kitchen environment. Long hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects may be required.
