KIP Fall 2025 - Outreach Intern - Mercatus Center
Stand Together
The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation’s most pressing . Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you. Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week). Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to apply in advance!

Overview:The Outreach Intern will learn about federal and state external relations. Furthermore, through programming, they will learn about Mercatus, classical liberalism, the broader liberty movement, and essential career skills.
This role is in person, in Arlington, VA.Role Responsibilities:Administrative Tasks and small research projects.Helping with preparation for meetings with legislators and coalition members as well as conferences.Drafting outreach campaign emails.Helping to prepare one pagers and other External Relations products.Attending External Relations events as well as events held by coalitions member.Helping with record keeping by taking notes on meetings with legislators and allies and recording them in Salesforce.Tracking relevant legislation and hearings.Learning about classical liberalism and Mercatus' work.Helping with media and the needs of the Strategic Engagement Team.QualificationsMust be enrolled in undergrad at the least.A passion for classical liberalismAn interest in and at least some knowledge of Mercatus' work.Good work ethic and self starter.Attention to detail.Stand Together Fellowships believes that diversity in experiences, perspectives, knowledge and ideas fuels creativity, broadens knowledge, and helps drive success.
