Kiln Tender Trainee

Weyerhaeuser Company is accepting applications for a Kiln Tender position at our Lumber facility in Magnolia, MS. This position will be responsible for operating our dry kilns. The successful candidate will participate in an extensive training program to learn how to safely operate the dry kilns used in our lumber drying process. During the training period, the pay rate is $18.29 per hour. Upon successful completion of the training period the pay is increased to $18.69 per hour, with potential to $21.67.

Pay Range: $19.65 - $23.68

Key Functions:

Total commitment to working safely and following all safety rules and regulationsResponsible for safely operating the dry kilns and conducting housekeeping activities in each assigned areaMoving loaded kiln cars into and out of the dry kilnsMonitoring the computer control system used in operating the kilns to dry lumber to tight specificationsPerform minor maintenance and repairs to the dry kilnsInterpreting work instructions adequately and successfully completing tasks as assignedMust demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skillsCommunicating with team members and leadership to improve safety and operating performance as well as meet job expectations
