Kids Camp Electives Instructor

Position Summary

The Kids Camp Electives Instructor provides best-in-class, educational/fitness-minded programming for our camp children within their area of expertise. Instructors will organize, instruct, and implement safe, fun and engaging activities for children between the ages of 4 to 11 years during Summer Camp.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Engages children in organized activities within their area of expertise.Is prepared for teaching class and ensures that their lessons help to develop each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Monitors and interacts with children; maintaining a safe and healthy environment with respect to sports equipment, other children, and surroundings.Utilizes positive behavior management techniques and communicates clearly with children and camp counselors.Maintains all program spaces used for programming by utilizing the cleaning checklist and completing assigned tasks. Restocks supplies and cleans up equipment after each class.Handles incidents and emergencies in a calm and professional manner.Communicates professionally with Kids Camp leadership, ensuring they are aware of any issues, concerns, or needs.

Minimum Required Qualifications   

Education:

Less than HS Graduate

Years of Experience:

6+ months of working with children ages 3 – 11 in similar programs or activities is preferred.1 or more years’ experience instructing their area of expertise is preferred.

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:

Nothing required

Preferred Qualifications:

The ability to engage a group of children in an activity.Customer service and strong communication skills.Ability to demonstrate and participate in the activity or skills that are being taught.Ability to bend routinely and repetitively to lift more than 30 lbs.

PayThis is an hourly position with wages starting at $15.00 and pays up to $18.00, based on experience and qualifications.
