What you'll do The Business Development Manager, Germany is a key role within Viasat International Government (VIG) responsible for leading the overall coordination of German Government sales campaigns between the BU and the wider Viasat organisation. This role is responsible for leading VIG’s collaboration with the wider Viasat organisation to better identify German Government makret opportunities and position products, services and partnerships creating a robust pipeline that will deliver increased revenue to the VIG business unit. The day-to-day Develop, execute and maintain business development plans to engage German Government key prospects to quickly identify opportunities for short-term growth and long-term revenue performance Identify opportunities for cross collaboration with other parts of Viasat International Government and other BUs on Viasat products in the same domains Develop and maintain deep German Government end-user relationships to establish the brand preference for Viasat (up to and including tender specification of Viasat products and services) and prioritise the approach to market in accordance with VIG strategy and capability fit. Develop strategic partnerships with key target German Government Agencies Develop specific campaigns to increase uptake of Viasat products and solutions, in close collaboration with BU marketing and Sector BD teams Drive customer engagement and gather requirements for future market opportunities Assess any opportunities to respond to German Government tender/RFI/RFPs. Initiate and retain control of the bid management process, working closely with the technical, commercial and legal experts within Viasat to ensure a successful and profitable outcome. Negotiate commercial terms and pricing effectively on behalf of Viasat. Lead & drive VIG’s collaboration with the wider Viasat organisation to better position products, services and partnerships that will deliver increased revenue to the VIG business unit over a 15 month horizon. What you'll need A confident and thoughtful leader with a track record of developing consensus across teams. Previous military end user experience, preferably within the satcom domain deemed beneficial Excellent communication skills with an ability to establish and maintain influential relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation and externally. The ability to cope confidently with ambiguity and make sound judgements in a complex and fast-moving environments. Business or Engineering Degree or higher, ideally with some exposure to the satellite industries. MBA preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to respond to urgent, unexpected issues. Demonstrable commercial experience and knowledge of working effectively with strategic partners, particularly in the Government satcom markets. Demonstrated experience of delivering new products or services to market. Knowledge of the Government sector. Demonstrable experience working closely with and delivering to operational government or institutional customers. German Government Security clearance an advantage What will help you on the job A proven track record or driving and delivering sales growth. Creation of a stakeholder network across German Government Agencies and Departments, especially within the Defence and Intelligence communities Awareness of different Programmes or Record, sales opportunities, and products/services, for the German Government. Aligning parallel sales initiatives across the wider Viasat organisation so that Viasat International Government can widen its product portfolio and addressable market and increase revenue generation at pace. Accountability for delivering to sales targets and provide accurate forecasting. Accountability for customer satisfaction and engagement. Monitoring customer, market, and competitor activity Expectation of travel to meet customers at German Government premises, attendance at International HQ (London) and Corporate HQ (Carlsbad, CA) and representing Viasat at relevant trade shows domestically and internationally.
