As the Key Account Manager, Zeiss and Americas you will be an innovative commercial leader and individual contributor in the Specialty Products business, specifically supporting Optical Monomers and Coatings. You will drive long-term success of the business, developing and implementing account strategies that will include both current and long-term sales growth plans, PC improvement/maintenance actions, and global pricing initiatives while guiding R&D for advantaged product innovation for our largest global customers.
You will collaborate externally with customers and the downstream value chain and internally with commercial, product managers, strategic market managers and technical leaders to set a strategic path forward for the Zeiss global key account globally and for all accounts in the Americas. Once established, you will have superior operational excellence to drive the strategy execution within a globally matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities
Accountable for exceeding sales, profitability targets, and cash conversion with a key global customer and the Americas region.
Develop, update and maintain a global account strategy for Zeiss aligned with SBU strategy and objectives with clear execution metrics.
Accelerating account strategy execution by leading cross-functional and cross-regional staff including regional account managers, customer service, supply chain, product managers, and strategic market managers, and technical through clear, effective communication and delegation
Coordinate team/solution-based initiatives based on account strategy and customer needs
Drive increased share of wallet growth at accounts – improving volume, sales revenue, and profitability. Expansion of participation beyond historic business.
Develop and maintain deep customer relationships across the customer’s organization at all levels, utilizing PPG SBU and corporate management.
Drive value for PPG and the customer through planned entanglement strategies
Through Voice-of-Customer and deep customer knowledge, develop a forward-looking product development and qualification strategy positioning PPG for future growth in alignment with other strategic account priorities.
Mobilizing PPG resources to align with customers’ resources and needs.
In alignment with product managers, strategic market managers, commercial excellence, and GBD, develop and implement pricing and commercial guidance
Collaborate with technical teams to provide intimate support at customer’s sites and also keep a pulse on customer activities, trends, needs.
Execute all commercial account management activities including building and managing a robust CRM opportunity pipeline, budgeting and demand forecasting, sales reporting and monitoring key account metrics including accounts receivable
Manage expectations with customer stakeholders along with internal PPG business and functional stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training, skills, and industry knowledge required. Masters Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Chemistry preferred
5+ years of sales experience, in B2B account management with materials and/or chemicals experience desirable
Large account management experience preferred (territory over $25M annual revenue)
Strong business and commercial acumen with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Understands how to navigate large, complex organizations strategically and effectively.
Experience in the ophthalmic eyewear industry desirable
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Demonstrated ability to drive customer intimacy
Strong commercial skills including experience with large contract negotiation, including knowledge of contract Terms & Conditions.
Regional/Global travel 25% - 50%.
Proven track record of success and progression within large multi-national organization.
Strong attention to detail, experience using CRM systems and Microsoft based software product (Powerpoint, Excel, etc)
Language skills: Communication (written and oral) in English required, additional language capability in German desirable
