Key Account Manager (South Africa and North America)

 

 

Are you a dynamic and driven sales professional with a passion for building and nurturing relationships? We are seeking an exceptional Key Account Manager to oversee our key customers across South Africa and North America.

 

The role:

 

As a Key Account Manager, you will play a key role in fostering strong partnerships and driving our sales strategy in these diverse and vibrant markets. 

 

Travelling two or three times per year, you will be responsible for selling the PRH Children’s list to accounts across these regions. 

 

You will collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Director to craft and implement a sales strategy aimed at maximising turnover and increasing our market share.

 

This role offers a high degree of autonomy, yet you will have the opportunity to work alongside various internal teams to achieve your goals. You will coordinate with the International Communications team on retailer promotions, partner with the International Business Development team to create bespoke retailer editions tailored to our key customers and you’ll collaborate with distribution, credit services and operations teams to ensure a seamless supply chain. 

 

Key responsibilities:
 

Foster and maintain excellent relationships with & understanding of the key wholesalers and retailers in the territories Work closely with key accounts to plan strategic growth through partnerships, exclusive deals, innovative promotions, supply chain improvement and returns management Create bespoke sales presentations to regularly sell in upcoming new titles and collaborate with customers on backlist promotions Negotiate with customers on discounts and special pricing to maintain the value of sales Act as the first point of contact whether to process orders, authorise discounts, deal with queries from authors, or troubleshoot shipping issues Monitor and analyse sales and market share of key accounts and feed back to internal stakeholders or for ad hoc presentations to authors Work with the International Ops team to ensure compliance with strict on-sale dates and embargo conditions Attending relevant meetings in PRH Children’s to provide a detailed international perspective Providing support to PRH Children's on our global strategy to ensure our children’s brands and authors are best represented across all markets. Lead the vision for our children’s sales within the territory team, delivering a market first programme that proactively delivers on the needs of the markets and responds to feedback from our global partners Provide the division with immediate market feedback to help develop bespoke publishing and strategic plans for core brands in the market

Essential criteria:
 

A self-starter with proven key account management experience Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong organisational and time management abilities Robust negotiation and influencing skills Resilience and flexibility to handle the rigours of regular sales trips Analytical prowess and numeracy skills Ability to work autonomously and consult with senior team members when needed

 

Preferred criteria:
 

Previous experience working in Children’s publishing

Salary
 

Up to £39,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from our office in London a minimum of two days per week.
