Title: Program Manager Location: Ken Garff Corporate Office (111 East Broadway STE 900, Salt Lake City, UT 84111) Job Type: In-office 5 days/week Reports to: Keys to Success Senior Program Manager Required Travel: Frequent, Local Compensation: $50-55,000 Annual Salary We are a statewide nonprofit foundation based in downtown Salt Lake City that offers its employees creativity, autonomy, and the opportunities to change the lives of Utah students. Mission: The mission of Ken Garff for Good is to provide a pathway to college or careers. We do this through literacy, technology and mentoring programs, and exposure to scholarships, internships, and careers. Programs and Purposes: + The purpose of Keys to Success is to motivate students to unlock their future by connecting them to scholarships, internships, and careers. + The purpose of Road to Success is to improve literacy skills of K-5 grade students through incentivized daily reading. + The purpose of Women Who Succeed is to provide opportunities for girls and young women to grow confidence and leadership skills. + The purpose of Ken Garff Esports is to enhance and enrich scholastic experiences through and beyond gaming. Position Summary: A Program Manager at Ken Garff for Good is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Ken Garff for Good’s programming throughout Utah. Each manager will be assigned a specific geographic area, where they will focus on elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in their region; this will include building strategic relationships with community partners from their region and throughout the state of Utah. In addition to overseeing Ken Garff for Good’s programming within a specific geographic region, a Program Manager will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one of the Ken Garff for Good programs. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring there is an emphasis on creating opportunity for underrepresented populations, including: low-income, minority, and female students. This role is responsible for implementing strategies that will ensure student success and a high completion rate. Regional Job Responsibilities – Wasatch Front North: + Oversee 4 school districts (Davis, Morgan, Ogden, and Weber Districts) in the northern Wasatch Front region that implements Road to Success, Keys to Success, Ken Garff Esports and Women Who Succeed. Some responsibilities may be to: + Coordinate closely with school principals, counselors, and other school faculty and staff to ensure Keys to Success is implemented throughout the region. + Ensure Key Contacts are in place in each high school to garner support and enthusiasm for Keys to Success. + Establish and foster relationships with districts’ Career Technology Educators to ensure Ken Garff for Good’s programming is a priority for each school district. + Ensure principals and counselors are aware of the mentee opportunity for Women Who Succeed. + Act as a liaison for Ken Garff Esports Club Advisors to Ken Garff Esports Subject Matter Expert and Director of Technology. + Visit schools on a semi-regular basis to: + Distribute prizes and act as a support to school contacts and students. + Deliver promotional materials such as banners, posters, flyers, and incentives to various schools in assigned geographic area. + Schedule and host events as school to promote programs, such as classroom visits, tabling events, or presentations at parent nights. + Ensure equity and access are of high priority for student enrollment by targeting low-income schools, rural schools, and minority students. + Track Key Performance Indicators for assigned geographic area, such as Keys to Success account creations and engagement, and recruitment for Ken Garff for Good’s programs. + Provide weekly reports to leadership as to progress and challenges in area regarding measured goals. + Communicate regularly and integrate initiatives as appropriate with other team members, including training on assigned Subject Matter Expect role. + Collaborate with Weber State University to increase student enrollment from high schoolers in the northern Wasatch Front region. Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities – Keys to Success Scholarships & Opportunities: + Oversee Daily Functions of the Keys to Success Application by testing/troubleshooting and reporting and regulary reviewing needed fixes or updates to the Senior Program Manager. + Oversee the Keys to Success Admin Portal by approving and verifying uploaded resources. + Create training materials such as videos, manuals, and more for key stakeholders to utilize the Keys to Success Platform. + Develop new strategic partnerships with industry professionals, higher education administrators, and other nonprofit organizations and community members to upload opportunities for Utah students such as scholarships and internships. + Develop a strategy to maintain a robust offering on Keys to Success, including scholarships, internships, and other opportunities available. + Oversee the Keys to Success sponsored scholarships process which includes, but is not limited to: + Creating a timeline of events for the Keys to Success scholarship season. + Keeping track of available scholarhips and which schools they are assigned to. + Create a guidebook that shows school contacts how to select scholarship recipients. + Create and follow guidelines for how to select scholarship recipients. + Work with Senior Program Manager to contact and award scholarship recipients. + Train other regional managers to ensure they are knowledgeable about the scholarships process and can communicate the scholarships process effectively to schools in their region. + Serve as the event lead for the annual Keys to Success Scholarship Ceremony: + Create an event timeline and run of show. + Lead other team members and create team assignments for the event. + Oversee the event’s budget and effectively allocate spending. + Serve as the creative director who designs all aspects of the event, including selecting the venue and organizing all materials. + Work with marketing team to oversee social media and physical marketing efforts related to scholarships promotion. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree (required) + Proficient in (required) English and (preferred) Spanish + Confident speaking in front of large crowds as well as one-on-one interactions + Ability to collect, process, and present measured results + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook + Organized, creative, self-starter, team player + Has integrity and values transparency in the workplace + Graphic design, website, and social media experience (preferred) Other Work Conditions: + This position requires regular travel; primarily local and during business hours although some occasional out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. + This is a full-time, exempt position. Work schedule is in-office Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with occasional events that go into the evening or occur on Saturdays. + Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
