KAP 2025-2026 - Outreach Coordinator - American Legislative Exchange Council
The Koch Associate Program (KAP) is a career accelerator for early to mid-career professionals with a drive to tackle our country’s most pressing in more effective, principled ways. KAP equips associates with the tools, mindsets, and community to succeed as social entrepreneurs—individuals excited to find new and better ways to break barriers and eliminate injustice. Associates spend one day each week engaging in experiential learning with Stand Together Fellowships and work at one of our many partner organizations the rest of the week. Our curriculum is designed to supercharge your development and equip you for long-term success as you seek to have an impact on the problems that prevent people from realizing their potential.  
The American Legislative Exchange Council seeks an Outreach Coordinator to join its high-energy, high-impact team. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, outgoing and have a desire to help grow the nation’s largest nonpartisan, membership association of state legislators.
The Outreach Coordinator will support and refine the legislator engagement and partnership programs.
This role is in person, in Arlington, VA.
Qualified candidates should submit the following:·       Résumé·       Cover letter detailing your interest in this role and salary requirements·       1-3 writing samples of your choice Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Coordinate ALEC’s 50-state state-level membership recruitment operation with the membership and regional outreach staffAssist in maintaining Salesforce databaseSupport ALEC’s State Chairs programCoordinate the legislative member renewal process throughout the yearAssist with material distribution and acknowledgement letters for both membership and partnership teamsAssist in setting up appointments, meetings and eventsSeek opportunities to network, attend meetings, conferences and opportunities to showcase ALECOther duties as assignedCore Requirements: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals, especially elected officialsB.A. in political science, communications or similar or past internships at nonprofit or state policy organizationsAbility to work collaboratively in team settingsStrong verbal and written communication skillsFamiliarity with Salesforce is highly desirableAbility to work evenings and weekends, as needed, and to travel up to 20% of the timeA commitment to the mission of ALECTo apply, please include a cover letter in your application
