Job Summary Job SummaryReports To: Vice Principal of Student Formation and Leadership FLSA Status: Non-Exempt - $20/hour Monday – Saturday (up to 12 hours a week) Description: The successful candidate is to be an exemplary role model for the athletes, school, and community. JV Assistant Cheer Coach is responsible for developing plans, and delivering effective practice. Be knowledgeable and skilled in tumbling and stunting to ensure the safety of all program participants. Be a professional, organized, and dedicated Coach. The Coach is responsible for assisting with scheduled practices and supervising the team at school football and basketball games and any other activities to promote school spirit. A coach is to be an exemplary role model for the athletes, school, community, and District. The successful candidate shall recognize that the purpose of athletics is to promote the physical, mental, moral, and emotional well-being of the individual athlete. Special Qualities & Characteristics • Passionate and supportive of the mission of JSerra (i.e., the integral formation of students’ faith, intellect, and character) • Must exhibit a deep appreciation for the Catholic faith and a commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church • Demonstrate a strong initiative and desire to work in a highly collaborative environment • Ability to develop and foster superior rapport with parents, students, and staff Primary Responsibilities • Act as a liaison between the school and the community to promote a positive image for Pep Squad, Cheer • Manage the team during practices, games, and other events • Attend games sports events, and general school events throughout the school year • Attend camp during the Summer • Be available for team games practices • Clean routines • Teach new skills as applicable • Coordinate with Head Cheer Coach and Advisor • Aid in communicate with parents
