How you will create an impact The Junior Underwriter for Financial Lines is responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of Financial Lines insurance products, primarily focusing on SME accounts and agent relationships. This role involves assessing risks, determining appropriate terms and conditions, and providing excellent service to brokers and clients. The Junior Underwriter will work closely with senior underwriters to develop their underwriting skills and contribute to the growth and profitability of the Financial Lines business in the Philippines. + Underwrite new and renewal Financial Lines business, primarily focusing on SME accounts, in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and authority levels. + Evaluate risks, including reviewing applications, financial statements, and other relevant information. + Determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions for insurance policies. + Develop and maintain relationships with agents and brokers. + Provide excellent service to agents and clients, responding to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner. + Document underwriting files accurately and completely. + Collaborate with senior underwriters on complex risks and accounts. + Assist in the development of underwriting strategies and initiatives. + Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies. + Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks. + Work with SME accounts and agents. What you’ll need to succeed + Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field. + Some experience in insurance underwriting, preferably in Financial Lines. + Basic knowledge of Financial Lines insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry practices. + Good analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills. + Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. + Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting systems. + Understanding of local insurance regulations and compliance requirements. + Tenacious, motivated, proactive Ready to take your career to the next level?
