Location: Meriden, Coventry
Salary: £25,000
The Opportunity
Network IT are currently recruiting for a Junior Software Tester with commercial experience—either through a previous role, industrial placement, or graduate scheme—to join a growing development team near Coventry.
In this role, you’ll build on your foundation in software testing to support the delivery of reliable, high-quality software products. You'll be involved in the full testing lifecycle, including test case design, bug reporting, regression testing, and contributing to team discussions about quality and improvements.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who’s taken their first steps in testing and now wants to be part of a collaborative Agile team where they can continue to develop technically while gaining exposure to modern testing practices and tools.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteriaDocument and report bugs, helping to troubleshoot issues with developersContribute to functional, regression, and exploratory testing activitiesSupport software releases by validating features and identifying risks earlyAssist in reviewing requirements and identifying test scenariosMaintain clear and detailed test documentationWhat You’ll Bring
A degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related fieldAt least 6–12 months of experience in a software testing or QA role (including placements)Understanding of testing principles and software development lifecyclesStrong attention to detail with a structured and analytical approachAbility to work collaboratively in Agile or fast-paced delivery environmentsFamiliarity with test management or bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)Desirable
Experience running manual tests across desktop or web applicationsExposure to SQL or basic database validationAwareness of automation tools such as Selenium or PlaywrightInterest in performance or non-functional testingA proactive approach to learning and improving testing practices
