Junior Safety Administrator
Transdev Services, Inc. is seeking a Junior Safety Administrator for its Boston Public Schools transportation contract. The Junior Safety Administrator will be responsible for inputting a high volume of data from multiple sources into databases for the purpose of storing accident, injury, and incident reports; and maintaining department files.The individual will also assist with monitoring and enforcing safety measures, policies, and requirements determined by the company and pertinent laws; and help with safety projects. Transdev is proud to offer: + Compensation package of $22.25 (minimum) to $27.75 (maximum) per hour. Key Responsibilities: + Responsible for maintaining all employee DQ files, ensuring that records are kept in accordance with federal and state regulations. + Assist with MA Registry of Motor Vehicles online license and self-certification renewals. + Create employee files, scan documents for electronic storage, and file hard copy documents. + Regularly review files, remove files of terminated employees, and places them in the appropriate storage. + Assist with maintaining a continuous current database of State and City of Boston School Bus Driver Training and Annual Re-certifications. + Assist in audits of DQ files by collecting documentation as needed. + Follow up with employees and other departments, as needed, to obtain incomplete or missing information. + Maintain Drug Testing Information. + Cover the Main Office front desk during periods of absence. + Maintains confidentiality of all information. + Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). + Two (2) years of clerical work in an office setting. + Accurate data entry keystrokes with adequate speed. + Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills. + Computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to utilize other departmental and company software programs. + Must be able to multi-task, work effectively with interruptions, and meet or exceed production and quality goals. + Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work with sensitive information or issues displaying confidentiality, tact, and decorum. + Bilingual or multi-lingual skills preferred. + Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment. + Willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. + Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups. + Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: + 90% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities. + Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen. + Push and pull objects up to 10 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 20 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level. + Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds and carry objects. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, night vision, and ability to adjust focus. + Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. + Most of the work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities. + Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer. + The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
