Echologics, a world leader in Leak Detection and Condition Assessment of Water Mains requires a Junior Project Manager (JPM) with experience within the Project Management (PM) team to conduct and manage leak detection and condition assessment projects for water pipelines. The selected candidate will be based remotely in the Redhill/ Surrey are in England.
This role will be instrumental in successfully applying PM best practices to manage our rapidly growing volume of work. The successful candidate will lead a broad range of projects within the UK and internationally. This role requires project management, team building and technical experience in engineering and underground infrastructure industries. The JPM is an integral member of the project management team responsible for delivering projects of small to medium size, with a primary responsibility of the execution and ultimately the completion of projects. This role will participate in project planning, scheduling, organizing and controlling delivery activities, and ongoing governance and reporting activities.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining productive and positive relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders, including customers, the sales team, and the Project Management team.
Responsibilities:
Project management - initiate, plan, execute, monitor progress, and close projects within predefined time, cost, and scopeManage project scope, forecast revenue, reduce risk, monitor project budget, costs, and margins to meet targetsOversee and conduct leak detection surveys of distribution water mains and transmission main leak detection studiesOversee and support project teams performing Leak Detection and Condition assessment which includes a mix of administrative tasks, client management, project management and field workClient management and ensuring excellent customer serviceAssist more senior engineers and project managers in complex projectsOutline the human and equipment resources required to successfully complete their projectsAssist managers in scheduling staff for multiple concurrent projectsManage the installation and commissioning of mobile monitoring systems for transmission pipelinesAdministrative duties such as scheduling, forecasting, time tracking, expense tracking, purchasing, and project documentationTrouble shoot problems from customer, site, technical and people management perspectivesUtilize Project Management tools such as MS Project, or templates as neededUtilize existing vendors for projects (traffic control, pothole creation, outside tech support, etc.)Deal professionally with staff, customers, external contractors, and other industry contactsWork in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Echologics’ Policies, Procedures and MWP Code of ConductBeing accountable for the health and safety of his/her employees and actively promote health and safety to his/her employees. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Science or Project Management certificationKnowledge of Project Management tools and techniques2+ years of project management experience, ideally in underground infrastructure industriesAt least one year of work experience with a client-centric role in engineering services within the water industry focused on managing projectsRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Competencies:
Familiarity with leak detection and condition assessment technologyExcellent organizational and analytical skillsInterpersonal, communications and negotiating skills to build positive relationships and resolve issues with supporting groups and individuals and external contactsAbility to handle many complex and rapidly changing tasks in parallelProficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and MS ProjectFull, Clean UK Driving licenseThese are considered assets:
