Junior Physical Security Engineer

We are looking for a curious and driven Junior Physical Security Engineer to work on security projects in the Pacific Northwest. As a Junior Physical Security Engineer, assigned to our Portland, Oregon office, you will work under the guidance of other security technology leads. You will have the opportunity to assist in planning and producing security designs for buildings, facilities, and sites. You will support our security teams to produce security schematics and schedules; to develop security plan drawings; and to provide input in cross-discipline coordination efforts. In this role, it is not expected that you will have extensive experience in security technology. This role requires a willingness to learn, an ability to dedicate yourself to growth in a rapidly evolving technology field, and a commitment to join a strong team and help with a wide variety of tasks. Our experienced team will work with you to build your knowledge of video surveillance, card access systems, biometric controls and physical intrusion detection technologies. · BS graduate of electrical engineering or computer science or related technical or scientific discipline. · Proficiency in MS 365 suite of applications; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. · Ability to multitask to meet demand of concurrent projects and deadlines. · Self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, and organizational skills. · At least 1 year of experience working with equipment or systems that have electrical requirements. Ideally, you’ll also have: · Understanding of physical security topics; video surveillance, card access, biometric systems, physical intrusion detection. · Basic understanding of various tradeoffs between wireless, fiber optic and copper cabling communications technology. · Proficiency in reading engineering plans and schematic drawings. · Experience using Bluebeam editing tools and design collaboration software.
