Junior Payroll Analyst (FTC until January 2026)

 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join our Group Salaries department as a Junior Payroll Analyst. This is a fixed term opportunity until January 2026. 

 

In this role, your focus will be on supporting the Assistant Payroll Manager, working closely alongside other Senior Payroll Analysts and Payroll Analysts in the team to carry out the day-to-day processing and reporting. 
This position will suit someone with a background in management accountancy and payroll. You will have an adaptable and methodical approach to your work and be able to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. Apply now to be part of our dedicated and dynamic team

 

Key responsibilities:
 

Adhering to processing timetables across all payrolls.  Managing the shared mailbox and assisting with complex ad-hoc payroll tasks and stakeholder queries Checking payroll for new starters and leavers, absence recordings, holiday pay across all payrolls including the Bureau payrolls Assisting with checking of all overtime and average holiday pay data on all payroll including the Bureau payrolls Assisting with stakeholder relationships specifically the Bureau payrolls to gather necessary data and query resolution for payroll processing Performing more complex ad-hoc payroll calculations and data changes Assisting with Pensioner payroll checking and final review Checking of all monthly input in collation with the Senior Payroll Analyst Overseeing queries from the conducting of audits and checks, such as part-time employee and National Minimum Wage checks and Anticipated leavers checks. Checking pension new joiners / enrolment & postponements. Producing financial payroll close reporting

 

What you’ll bring
 


Essential criteria:
 

Previous experience in management accountancy, working with Payroll reconciliations.  Relevant experience of working within a busy payroll department Good verbal and written communication skills  Relevant knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office suite, particular Excel.

 

Preferred criteria:
 

Relevant experience of using payroll systems (experience of Payrite/FMP/IRIS is desirable)

Salary

 

Circa £35,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
