We are seeking a talented Junior Network Administrator to support a Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity program. In this role, you’ll assist with managing and securing network infrastructure in a classified, high-assurance environment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with network hardware, strong troubleshooting skills, and a collaborative mindset, with opportunities to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced team.
Responsibilities Perform daily administration and maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewallsMonitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve connectivity issues promptlySupport implementation of network security configurations and policies in alignment with DoD cybersecurity frameworksConduct regular vulnerability scans and support remediation efforts using tools such as ACASApply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and contribute to Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) complianceMaintain up-to-date network diagrams, configuration baselines, and asset inventoriesAssist in incident response activities by collecting and analyzing network dataWork closely with senior network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and systems teams on RMF-aligned initiativesParticipate in formal change management processes for planned network updates and implementations Qualifications Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearanceAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)DoD 8470/8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)1+ years of experience in network administration in a DoD or large-scale IT environmentSolid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and switchingExperience working with enterprise-grade network hardware to include Juniper (required) and Cisco Familiarity with RMF processes, STIGs, and system hardening practicesProficiency with common troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, Wireshark, etc.)Strong attention to detail, documentation habits, and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a mission-oriented technical team Posted Min Pay Rate USD $52,000.00/Yr. Posted Max Pay Rate USD $64,000.00/Yr.
