Position Overview:
At Freedom Boat Club, we are committed to delivering an exceptional boating experience to our customers. Our network of dealerships offers a wide range high-quality boats, outstanding customer service, and expert parts and service departments, all fueled by our passion for the boating lifestyle.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Marine Operating Center as a Junior Marine Technician. In this entry-level role, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to diagnose, repair, and maintain various boats and marine engines, while gaining hands-on experience in the marine industry. As you develop your skills, you will contribute to ensuring customers receive top-tier service with an emphasis on learning and growth.

Essential Functions:
+ Perform basic routine maintenance including oil changes, winterization (in needed), and spark plug & battery replacements.
+ Assist with boat repairs, installations, and maintenance on engines and vessel components.
+ Support technicians by gathering tools, checking parts inventory, filling fluids, and operating boats during diagnostics.
+ Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with senior technician support.
+ Collaborate with the team to address repair challenges, establish workflows, and estimate timeframes.
+ Review repair orders and vessel specifications to determine and assist with necessary work.
+ Conduct safety inspections and review service histories for recommended maintenance.
+ Apply bottom or antifouling paint and occasionally paint cowlings.
+ Assist with light refurbishment work
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, always adhering to safety protocols.
+ Participate in company-required training sessions, meetings, and communications via email and Microsoft Teams.
+ Assist with occasional onsite and offsite promotional events and boat shows, including setup and breakdown as needed.
+ Any additional duties assigned for success.

Required Qualifications:
+ **Must be at least 21 years old**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Basic mechanical or technical experience gained professionally or through personal projects.
+ Willingness to pursue industry certifications and expand technical knowledge.
+ Basic computer literacy.
+ Ability to read and write professional summaries of completed work.
+ Commitment to safety standards.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills.
+ Natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving,
+ Solid work ethic and be a team player
+ Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards, along with a clear background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience in a mechanical or technical trade (e.g., automotive, powersports, A/C, telecommunications, etc.).
+ Completion of postsecondary education, trade school, or certification in a technical field.
+ Knowledge of boats and their operation.
Working Conditions:
+ Performs work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
+ Operates boats, motorized vehicles, small handheld power tools, and other equipment.
+ Moves up to 50 pounds and performs tasks requiring physical exertion.
+ Adjusts to various physical positions as needed to perform repair tasks, such as accessing items at ground level, working in limited spaces, or operating at elevated heights (less than one story).
+ Works safely near water and on docks.
+ Ascends/ descends ladders to board/ depart vessels.
Travel Requirements:
This position may occasionally require travel to deliver boats, attend meetings, or other events as needed.
The anticipated pay for this position is $18.00, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
