If you’re looking for a career that moves, join our team of professionals who are passionate about the future of transportation. **Your Opportunity** We are currently seeking a Junior Inspector to conduct fieldwork to complement our team in the Toronto office. The Junior Inspector will play a lead role in the delivery of environmental assessment and functional/preliminary and detail design assignments primarily for public sector clients. Due to expanding business opportunities in Ontario and elsewhere within the company, this position offers growth in the areas of technical/professional development and project management. **Your Key Responsibilities** * Carry out inspection activities to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards. * Conduct site surveys to gather information on site conditions, materials, and equipment. * Search for physical survey evidence (e.g., building ties, monuments, fences) and determine its adequacy. * Obtain additional survey evidence as required and assess when sufficient data has been collected. * Perform basic analysis of field data using standard inspection procedures and practices. * Assist in compiling field data and preparing reports for review by the design team. * Support checkers by collecting and organizing delivery tickets from truck operators. * Conduct ongoing tonnage checks and verify material deliveries. * Ensure tare and final weight measurements are properly documented. **Your Capabilities and Credentials** * Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. * Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required. * Comfortable using computer programs and mobile inspection platforms; familiarity with software such as MS Office is required. * Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle. Note: WHMIS and health & safety training will be provided as part of onboarding. **Education and Experience** * Currently enrolled in or graduated from a post-secondary program in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician. * Experience working on municipal or provincial road construction projects is an asset. * Registration or eligibility for registration with PEO (EIT) or OACETT (Technician/Technologist) is preferred. Additional Information * This position reports to the Team Lead and works under the guidance of the Contract Administrator and Senior Inspectors. * Projects are primarily municipal or provincial infrastructure contracts. * This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities.
