As an Investment Advisor (IA) you will work in partnership with Relationship Managers within the Private Bank in order to deliver investment solutions to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) and institutional clients including family offices and external asset managers, working closely with Relationship Managers, Product Specialists and Portfolio Managers of our discretionary mandates, you will leverage your market expertise to construct and recommend investment strategies aligned with clients’ financial goals and risk tolerance. IA’s are expected to adhere and maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements and compliance policies to avoid exposing the business to undue risk, which is a critical component of this role. 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert investment advice and portfolio construction services to private banking clients.

Collaborate with Relationship Managers to understand client profiles, objectives, and constraints.

Propose and implement (bespoke) investment strategies across asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives, etc.).

Monitor and review client portfolios regularly, ensuring alignment with changing market conditions and client needs.

Deliver market insights, investment ideas, and updates in both written and oral formats.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global financial markets, economic trends, and regulatory developments.

Participate in investment committees and contribute to internal research publications.

Ensure all advisory activities comply with Swiss financial regulations, internal risk policies, and MiFID II/FIDLEG frameworks.

Support the bank’s asset-gathering efforts by enhancing client engagement and satisfaction through trusted advisory relationships.

To be successful as an Investment Advisor, you should have these essential skills/ qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, CIIA, or AZEK are a plus.

You will have a first-class understanding of the constituent building blocks and asset classes of our investment philosophy, (equities, bonds, alternatives, foreign exchange, commodities, structured products and derivatives).  

Strong knowledge of macroeconomics, portfolio construction and a range of solutions to execute implementation. An understanding of behavioural economics is also preferable.   

Outstanding knowledge of Investments

Self-motivated, be able to plan and execute client acquisition and relationship strategies.

Relevant experience of the affluent investment industry commensurate with the grade.

Strong presentation skills in order to effectively showcase our investment proposition. Ability to convey complex concepts clearly

The ability to work with colleagues worldwide to deliver banking and other services, thus ensuring a holistic service for the client. 

Fluent in English and an understanding of French desirable.

Purpose of the role

To develop and manage the success of specific financial products and services, providing in-depth expertise on a particular product line, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, sales, and customer service. 

Accountabilities

Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.Understanding of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.Response to customer inquiries, attend client meetings and obtain a detailed understanding of complex personal / corporate financial circumstances in order to provide options for suitable product solutions. Support with resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage.  .Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as pitch materials and client presentations.Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.Participation in events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.
