Junior Dev Ops Engineer - Early Career Program

Job DescriptionLaunch your career as a Junior DevOps Engineer

Grow your skills during the Early Career Program IT at Rabobank. Discover your potential by working as a Junior DevOps Engineer at Tech4Ops, while combining hands-on experience with professional training.

You and your future

To become a specialist in your field, the Early Career Program IT offers a structured and supportive learning path. You’ll work four days a week as a Junior DevOps Engineer, and spend one day per week on training sessions focused on developing your technical and personal skills. These sessions are led by experienced colleagues or professional trainers with a proven track record. You’ll build a strong network, gain valuable experience, and develop skills that will benefit you throughout your career. After the 18-month program, our goal is to continue working with you at Rabobank.

What to expect

Rabobank is a Dutch bank operating in 38 countries, serving over 9.5 million customers. Together with our customers, members, and partners, we work toward a world where everyone has access to healthy food. In the Netherlands, we aim to create a society where people are happy with how they live, work, and do business.

You’ll join Tribe Tech4Engineering, which provides comprehensive IT services to all Rabobank squads. Within this tribe, you’ll work in the Tech4Ops area, which focuses on (security) logging and monitoring. Our services include application monitoring and security detections.

“Tech4Ops is a group of open-minded people, always ready to support each other and live the Rabobank value: ‘I make you better!’ Our team is passionate about delivering value and demonstrates operational ownership in everything we do.”
— Albert Wollaars, Tech Lead Tech4Ops

We’re currently looking for two Junior DevOps Engineers to join two different squads, each with its own exciting challenges and opportunities:

Squad Tracer: Supports engineers in their daily IT operations through proactive monitoring and alerting services. You’ll grow your knowledge and experience in Observability and Incident Response Management (IRM).

Squad Haystack: Empowers other squads to make data-driven decisions by enabling them to collect, process, analyse, and visualize their data. You’ll deepen your knowledge and hands-on experience in log monitoring.

We’d love to hear about your preferences in your motivational letter and during the process, we’ll assess which squad would be the best fit for you.

Program Structure

1 day per week: Training and personal development

4 days per week: Hands-on experience with your squad

2 days during the program: Collaborate on a sustainability project with fellow ECP participants

With the guidance of experienced colleagues, you’ll grow into a specialist in your field in no time.

Responsibilities

Building and maintaining pipelines across multi-cloud platforms

Enhancing CI/CD integration for monitoring and alerting frameworks

Developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (Terraform) and REST API integrations

Supporting the development of dashboards for metrics, logs, and traces

Collaborating with DevOps squads to improve system health and performance visibility

Contributing to cost-effective observability and monitoring strategies (FinOps focus)

Your development as a young professional
