Junior Data Architect
Join our Commodities and Global Markets Data Technology and Data Architecture team to co-design and build scalable and well-governed physical data models for our data and analytics platform. As a Junior Data Architect, you will work alongside engineers, business SMEs, data modellers and the Group Data Office to assist in building out our innovative data platform. You will assist in designing scalable and reusable physical data models as part of the Commodities and Global Markets data model working groups, engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and reviewing data model and reporting requirements. 1-2 years data architecture or data modelling experience, with an interest in ‘hand-on’ design to support engineering outcomesSome knowledge of data warehousing and data platform concepts and data modelling techniquesUnderstanding of relational databases and SQL, particularly with experience writing SQL for data profiling purposesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiencesHands-on experience with Python for data-related tasks and automationKnowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, and platforms like BitbucketExperience with data modelling tools, such as Erwin Data Modeler would be highly valued, but not mandatory.  We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
