Junior Content Stylist - Freelance opportunity

We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Junior Content Stylist to join our in-house photo studio team on a freelance basis. We’re recruiting for upcoming work starting from September.  

Job Description

Our in-house studio team is responsible for ensuring our products, content, advertising, and always-on campaigns are engaging, on-brand and look the best – standing out in all the right ways! Reporting to our Studio Manager, as Junior Creative Stylist, you’ll assist in preparing and styling products, props, and sets for photo shoots, ensuring everything looks polished and on-brand. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for aesthetics, a passion for styling, and a collaborative spirit.

In a snapshot:

Assist senior stylists and photographers in setting up styled shoots for e-commerce, editorial, and social content.Style products, props, and backgrounds to meet creative briefs and brand guidelines.Maintain a tidy and organised studio environment, including prop storage and styling kits.Collaborate with the studio team to brainstorm styling ideas and contribute to mood boards.Support on shoot days with styling adjustments, product prep, and set resets.Help manage styling inventory and source props when needed.

Please note this is a freelance opportunity with no set weekly hours. The days and hours could vary from a full work week (Mon – Fri) during our peak shoot periods to a couple of hours/days during quieter periods. The work will be based on-site at our head office in Northcote.

Skills & Experience

This opportunity is a fantastic chance to get fully immersed in a commercial, in-house photo studio – your work will help set the tone of how our products show up in front of our customers! Your proactivity, enthusiasm and hunger to learn on the job will be key qualities to succeed in this position! Perhaps a recent grad with experience in creative projects, or looking to expand your commercial experience, this role will have tons of variety, interesting work and more!

Some experience in styling, visual merchandising, or a related creative field preferred, but not essential.Strong visual sense and attention to detail.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced studio environment.Comfortable taking direction and working as part of a team.Basic understanding of photography and studio workflows is a plus.Social native, familiar with social platforms & execution of social tools (CapCut, in-app edits)Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud suite – (Lightroom, Photoshop, Bridge, FireFly) is a bonus.An interest in the evolving AI landscape for commercial creative use.
